About: I received my Master's in HF in Information Design from Bentley College last year, and I currently work as an IA for a Boston area startup.
I am thinking of eventually relocating to get away from the New England weather, so I'm interested in talking to people from North Carolina and Portland OR about what it's like to live there, the job market, and the usability/IA community in those areas.

Ha! I just saw that you're thinking of relocating from New England to Portland to get away from the weather. Hardly anyone moves to Portland for the weather. It rains a lot. But it's beautiful, and it is less harsh than Boston.
