Christina:

this is great news. ML will need to check about Brooklyn, since she is so little though.

Stacy Surla:

I checked with Maria, the concierge at the Hyatt, and she was very helpful about childcare. They can arrange for sitters, and have one person in particular they use all the time for guests and also to take care of the kids of staff who work at the hotel. She can take care of several of our children at once or one at a time. For 1 child the charge is $15/hour, for 3 children $25/hour, with a 3 hour minimum.

ML Chan:

I'm bringing Brooklyn(6 months by then) and Jeff, and it would be helpful to hear of sitters option.

Christina:

Stacy,

Well, depends which balls you are willing to drop while juggling! I think I saw one or two talks last conference, because I had to be willing to get up at a moment's notice if she became disruptive. Even with so many aunties and uncles, I was still the primary caregiver, and she wouldn't have it any other way. Bringing your husband is a great idea, if he doesn't mind providing coverage for important sessions.

The upside is sharing someone you love with the people you love.. and after 8 years, I don't mind admitting having grown fond of some of these crazy IA types. ;-) Plus, a major advantage of conferences is networking, and my daughter has provided a very easy talking point.

Maybe we should band together to request baby care?

Stacy Surla:

Christina, this year my husband and 2 year old daughter will be coming to the Summit with me. Yayy! You've clearly figured out how to juggle a toddler with participation in the conference -- what tips do you have for me? And will your daughter be coming this year?
