Bart Vermeersch:

I created a Flickr group for the summit, feel free to join:

Mario Bourque:

Speaking from experience, the logic behind the decision does not necessarily have to make sense. In my situation, it had to do with both internal politics and market circumstances. The company needed to achieve a set of numbers and did what it felt it needed to do to get there.

Bart Vermeersch:

It struck me to hear that such a company made such a decision, firing a whole team is rather drastic. I was interested in finding out whether this was caused by internal politics or whether it is a market-driven decision.

Bryce Glass:

Do you mean that the TEAM sounds awful (they weren't—quite talented in fact) or that the firing sounds awful? (Which, I suppose it was—such things always manage to feel... distasteful in the end.)

Bart Vermeersch:

Does anyone know more about the Yahoo Design Innovation Team which has been fired just recently? It sounds awful.
