John Ryan
About: Principal and CTO of small company that develops software for web applications. We have a document management and application framework software called Docova.
IA is kind of new to me and I would like to learn more. My pal Mario alerted me to this conference. Interested in meeting people to discuss UX, data organization(taxonomies) and things such as social applications like Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, wikis, blogs etc. I get it, but I don't get it. Here to stay? The birth of what's to come tomorrow? Fads? What's in a name? What's really the use? Would like discussion, argument, enlightenment. Let me take you (yous) to dinner.
What do I have to offer you? Well, I am a software developer initially and at heart. I have done 17 years of consulting and development work. I've put together a lot of software applications and gathered more user requirements than I care to remember. From a UX point of view I have a lot of experience. From an IA point of view, in developing solution I am experienced at organizing information for companies but not like a librarian for example. From a social networking point of view, well, like I mention, I see it but I don't see it. I think there is a lot of discussion to be had around social networking and UX and hence may have some interesting ideas to share.

John, Would be happy to meet and talk about taxons. I'll be in Miami F-M. Lorelei can point me out. JB
Joseph Busch is the man, btw - taught me all I know about taxo!
Hey John...thanks for dropping a line. We're definitely planning a lunch-time table on social-networking, so that should tap into some of those nagging thoughts and ideas you have. And, yes...let's meet. Would love to talk more. Cheers.
Mingle, mingle, mingle, preferably with mojitos.
