Brazilian graphic and web designer living in the Washington, DC metro area since 1994. I worked almost a decade in the travel industry doing print, web, and user interface design. I have grown frustrated with strategy conflicts and miscommunication between business, IT, marketing, and design. Then, I though: -"there must be a better way of doing this!"

So, I quit my job and went back to school to rethink and strengthen my career.

Now, I am a full-time graduate student in the M.S. program in Interaction Design and Information Architecture at the University of Baltimore, MD. This Spring semester I am taking Research Methods, Information Architecture, and Sequential Visualization.

This is my first time at the IA Summit. I am one of the 6 lucky students who received a FatDUX scholarship to attend the conference.

On a personal note, I am an avid dancer, cross-culture focused, people connector, and very curious about what makes people tick. Hence my interest on user research.

I am very excited about coming to the summit. Looking forward to meeting so many amazing minds focused on enhancing the human experience.

You guys rock!

Russ Unger:

I'll do my best, but I'm not good at packing light for anything. Ever.

Russ Unger:

Thanks for the tip! I've a feeling that a 630 arrival means a 7p luggage finding, which means a 730p hotel arrival which means I'm lucky to be checked-in by 8! I'd hate to miss an opportunity to flex my geek mingle!

Sadie Centola:

Thanks for the map!

Adriana Machado:

Talking to myself to get "above the fold" attention: Here is a Google Map to help us all plan for this event:

alessandra nahra:

Sure, no problem. I'd rather talk to you in person, anyway. Have a good week ;)

alessandra nahra:

Oi Adriana
Gostaria de conversar com vocĂȘ sobre o curso de Baltimore. See you there!

Laura Lessa:

Sure, why not joining them? But I think we should also have our Brazilian breakfast and speak some Portuguese.
Morro de saudade :-)

Laura Lessa:

Yes, great idea! Let's have a Brazilian breakfast as well.

Can it be on Sunday?

Alla Zollers:

I am definitely interested, I sent you a message. I also wanted to tell you that I grew up in Baltimore :)

Cory Ferber:

This looks really interesting! - M.S. Interaction Design and Information Architecture - I wonder if they have anything like that in the Bay Area.

Adriana Machado:

Yes, here... I am talking to myself :-)

Adriana Machado:

Yeah, the comment feature could be a little more intuitive. In fact, sending a comment to myself does not seem logic, does it?

Livia Labate:

Oh my god, I love that quote. Every time my brother and I see a fly we have to say it.
